About the Event
Join us as we travel back to the battlefields of Michigan in the War of 1812. Learn how the earliest of Michigan soldiers organized and struggled to fight against the British. We will focus on the perspectives of specific units of soldiers, their combat roles and equipment.
The program features Military History Academy educator Jerry Berg leading a
presentation on the history and significance of the War of 1812 in Michigan and the
Michigan soldiers that fought in it, both American and British, as well as the role that the
Michigan Territory played.
This event is co-sponsored by the Saugatuck-Douglas District Library and the Saugatuck Douglas History Center.
